DAO supports BETA Center Fundraiser
For the 5th year, DAO Consultants, Inc. is volunteering for a major fundraiser for the BETA Center. BETA is a home, shelter, school, and resource for families in need, with special focus counselling and programs for teenage mothers. The “Diamonds & Denim” gala was started by Ms. Solange Dao to help BETA raise much needed operating funds. Ms. Dao was on the BETA Board for 6 years. The Diamonds and Denim Gala will be held at the Gaylord Palms on August 22.

DAO welcomes Elipsis Engineering and Consulting, LLC!
DAO is proud to promote a new engineering firm to the Central Florida area. Tom Whitney, P.E. has been a long time friend and colleague of DAO. His new firm, Elipsis EC (www.elipsisec.com), provides engineering services in the fields of Construction Materials Testing, Threshold Inspection, Structural Steel inspections and Drilled Shaft Inspections. Sarah Blake is Elipsis’s marketing director in charge of FDOT and GOAA projects. DAO sends congratulations to Tom and Sarah on their highly successful first year in service to Central Florida!

Studying the Leadership of James Ray International, Inc.
Ms. Solange Dao has just completed two intensive programs under the James Ray International banner of human potential programs. Ms. Dao continually strives to expand her skill set to incorporate greater knowledge in her leadership seminars.
With engineer technology constantly evolving, innovation is essential to meet the world’s demands. Leadership will be called upon to reduce the stress on our world’s most valuable resource–human minds. Ms. Dao’s next major speaking appearance will be on October 31st at the ASCE National Convention in Kansas City, MO.

DAO Continuing Effort to Foster Young Engineers’ View
To ensure the Civil Engineering field continues its honorable service to the public, DAO has reached out to college students in this historical economic era for our nation. Gone are the $50k starting salaries, firm hiring sprees, and guarantees of employment. Students are fearful for their uncertain futures.
Ms. Solange Dao delivers a 30-minute motivation talk in the realities of the economy with new thoughts and hope in career advice. Her energetic and positive focused message leaves students with the seeds of innovation. “This are times like we have never seen. We all have to step back, observe, and reinvent how we are going to garner the best job for our talents. Reinvent your thinking such as the best job may not be in another state.” There are engineering jobs available. Jobs.aol.com listed the twenty cities in the US with the lowest unemployment. This economy requires totally forgetting the past. You cannot look in the rear view mirror if you’re driving forward. Those who are determined always see a bright future of new possibilities straight ahead.

DAO Consultants Supports Central Florida YMCA
The Central Florida YMCA’s annual community prayer breakfast was held on January 19th. The event is renown as the ”Pappy Kennedy Breakfast,” for Orlando first Black Commissioner. Duy and Solange were inspired by Congressman Kweisi Mfume’s speech. It was a great honor to be a part of the YMCA’s 18th annual tradition to remember and honor Martin Luther King, Jr.’s ideals for America.

DAO Consultants, Inc. is proud to present our new client-friendly website and blog, “Dao Headlines.”
We hope our new webpage features will allow land-owners and developers seeking civil engineer assistance to communicate their needs directly to experienced professionals. In return DAO shall provide a timely response to their questions about LEEDS certification, land development, utilities, permitting, and storm water drainage.
