Dao Consultants, Inc., is experienced in all areas of drainage and storm water management, and associated permitting activities. Specific areas of expertise include:


  1. Master Drainage Plan for use in land planning activities, Development of Regional Impacts (DRI) application, subdivision application and water management district conceptual approvals.
  2. Surface Water Management Plan including analysis of storm sewer system and open channel back water profiles for safe operation, performance and adequacy of the proposed grading, paving and drainage systems.
  3. Flood routing calculations of pre-development and post-development discharge rates; volumes routing through interconnected ponds to determine minimum road and house pad elevations, preparation of Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for flood plain boundaries revision.

  1. Water Management Districts
    Preparation and processing of application for Management and Storage of Storm Waters (MSSW); Consumptive Use Permit (CUP) for ground water withdrawal with South Florida Water Management District and St. Johns River Water Management District.
  2. Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)
    Preparation and processing permits for water and sanitary sewer connections, industrial waste disposals, preparation of Capacity Report, Maintenance and Operation Report for wastewater treatment plants and dredge and fill activities.
  3. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
    Preparation and processing application for Storm water Connection Permits, Driveway Connection Permits and Utilities Connection Permits.
  4. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE)
    Preparation of dredge and fill permits. Coordination with consulting biologists for wetland mitigation portion of application.
  5. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
    Preparation of NPDES (Nation Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit application for industrial storm water discharge.
  6. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
    Preparation of Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) for revision of flood plain boundaries or elevations.
